Have A Suggestion?
Do you have an idea or a suggestion? The Friends want to know!
Last month the Friends of the Library had their annual booksale at Main Street Days. It was a great day and we made a record $584.00.
We want to thank all the people who brought in books for the sale, and if any of you didn't get a chance to donate them in October, we still need more.
Marilyn Turpin has been helping out with book sales for a few years and has taken break to be with her family. We want to thank her for her hard work and welcome Sharon Felipi who has stepped in to take her place. It is a much easier job when shared with several volunteers.
The board would like to thank all of the Friends who have sent in donations this month. We have already received many responses.
Our Annual Friends meeting will be held in late January. Look for a ballot for officers in the mail at the first of the year.

It's Great to Have Friends
Everywhere you turn, there is news about the budget challenges facing the Stockton San Joaquin Library system which includes the Ripon Memorial Library. Articles have been written that include the possibility of a reduction in service hours, privatizing and layoffs.
While there is much uncertainty, the Friends continue to support, raise funds and advocate for the Ripon Memorial Library. Since the 1970's, the Friends have carried out our mission statement which includes year round support for the Ripon Memorial Library. While the economy has dealt community libraries a tough hand, Friends groups have continued to step up and provide help when it is needed the most. As an advisory group, the Ripon Friends continues to ensure that our work does not stop and are continuing to provide funding for programs, materials and educational resources that are requested from the Ripon community. Our commitment to our mission and to the Ripon community is the driving force behind our keep moving forward efforts. Changes are sure to come but the Friends are committed to providing all that the community has come to expect as our members have empowered us to do.
