Book Sale

Book Sale

Friends of the Ripon Memorial Library operates an on-going Book Sale which is open to the public during library hours.

Have A Suggestion?

Do you have an idea or a suggestion? The Friends want to know!

The Frineds of the Library will be holding its Annual Meeting on January 23rd at 5:00 pm. We will be meeting in the Community Room to be elect new officers and discuss what we have accomplished this past year. Mellinda will be giving her yearly report, and we will look ahead to addressing some of the library's needs in 2017. The board would love your input and hope you can attend.

The library book sale continues to do well. It is a very important way to support the Ripon Library's programs with both your purchases and donations. We are always in need of donations, so if you have some gently used (fairly new) that are just sitting on your shelves, we would love to add them to our collection.

Watch for a collection of mystery books by popular authors on sale in January.

Art materials will be available as well as basic and not-so-basic craft supplies. Also, the 3D printer will be running during the entire program! Suitable for kids 8 and up. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Tuesday, Jan. 10, 4:00-5:00

Each meeting we decide as a group what type of book we will read and discuss the next meeting. Then we each choose our own title to fit the criteria. Then we meet again to discuss why we choose what we read, what we liked or disliked, themes...and choose a new topic. Feel free to join at any time!

Wednesday, Jan. 11, 25 at 3:30pm

Lego (TM) Club for Kids is a drop-in program that allows kids to make Lego creations with Legos provided by the library. We give the children a theme to spark their creativity and they can spend an hour building whatever their imagination conjures. It's a fun, non-competative afternoon activity for the whole family! We also provide Duplos for smaller children.

It's Great to Have Friends

Everywhere you turn, there is news about the budget challenges facing the Stockton San Joaquin Library system which includes the Ripon Memorial Library. Articles have been written that include the possibility of a reduction in service hours, privatizing and layoffs.

While there is much uncertainty, the Friends continue to support, raise funds and advocate for the Ripon Memorial Library. Since the 1970's, the Friends have carried out our mission statement which includes year round support for the Ripon Memorial Library. While the economy has dealt community libraries a tough hand, Friends groups have continued to step up and provide help when it is needed the most. As an advisory group, the Ripon Friends continues to ensure that our work does not stop and are continuing to provide funding for programs, materials and educational resources that are requested from the Ripon community. Our commitment to our mission and to the Ripon community is the driving force behind our keep moving forward efforts. Changes are sure to come but the Friends are committed to providing all that the community has come to expect as our members have empowered us to do.

Join us by continuing to support the Friends through your generous donations, Friends Book Sale purchases, Save Mart S.H.A.R.E.S. use and ongoing used book donations.
